He embarked on a lifelong dedication to the understanding and popularization of Filipino traditional music. Founded the UP Center of Ethnomusicology and donates his sound recordings to the Ethnomusicology in the Philippines and Southeast Asia Recognized by the UNESCO Memory of the World.
